Ben & Celia - Shenandoah Mill, Mesa

This wedding was especially fun for me because the bride was my childhood friend's little sister. Knowing many of the friends and family who were there made it even more enjoyable! The day passed so quickly for me and I hardly felt like I was working! I've chosen a few photos from Ben & Celia's special day, purposely selecting photos that weren't necessarily included in their album. There were soooo many great photos from this wedding! When you get a chance, visit our website at www.astorybookmoment.com and flip through the pages of Ben & Celia's storybook album.
Ben & Celia were married at Shenandoah Mill in Mesa, Arizona. They love the outdoors and chose this location for it's beautiful rustic appearance. Celia wore a beautiful ivory and champagne gown from Suzanne's Bridal Boutique out of Gilbert. Ben matched up his Converse with a tux from Men's Wearhouse out of Scottsdale.

Here are a couple "getting ready" photos of Celia with her mom. She had a wonderful group of girls with her, including her two older sisters. See the completed album for more.

While I was busy capturing moments with the girls, Matthew, of course, was with the guys. I always find it fun to see what he captured while I wasn't around, and it was especially fun with these guys!

Jack Bauer??

Is Ben getting cold feet???

Boys will be boys!

Some special moments during the ceremony...
Kabloom did a superb job, as usual, on the flowers.

Don't ask...
Ultimate Sounds provided the DJ services. Everyone had a lot of fun and danced the night away!

Awwwww....

Kristin, Heather, & Celia - 3 Sisters

Heather made Celia's wedding cake. Didn't she do a beautiful job?!

Congratulations Ben & Celia!

New "White As Snow" Session

Well, I've been busy working behind the scenes and have decided that there are two things I love (aside from weddings!), and those are 1) working in a controlled lighting situation and 2) working with children. After teaching preschool for around 13 years of my life, and having left teaching to pursue photography - I've decided that it's time to combine the two! So, I am introducing a new specialty session called "White As Snow". It's a beautiful portrait session all in white and although it's geared toward babies and children, it can also be done with moms-to-be, or even the family! The portraits have a soft, pure appearance and can be produced with your choice of Bible scripture added to the print. Be watching for some examples in the coming weeks as we debut this session!

Ed Pierce - Captivated by Light

What'd you do for Valentine's Day?? Well, Matt and I went to Phoenix for the evening to attend a photography seminar by Ed Pierce, featuring some of the nation's top photographers. I know, doesn't sound very romantic, huh? But we truly love our work and we especially enjoy getting away from the daily grind (and kids) to relax and watch some of the greatest at work. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing some of our vendors in person at a mini tradeshow. We didn't arrive home until about 2:00am, but it was worth it. Our proofing site, Collages was there as well as representatives from Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, an organization with whom we are honored to be members of. If you are not familiar with them, check it out! It's a wonderful opportunity for us to give priceless memories to families who lose an infant or child. The families receive a portrait session and all their images completely free of charge. NILMDTS's presentation last night brought tears to our eyes.
I wish we could show you some pics, but we didn't bother to bring our cameras with us this time. Hope everyone else had a beautiful Valentine's Day!

The Marsh Family - Goldwater Lake

Congratulations to the Marsh family for winning our drawing for a free family session! Dale and his two kids love to fish, so we appropriately photographed them down at a lake, just being themselves. Matt wished he could join them!

Baby MacKenna & Mommy Audrey

This was such a neat photo shoot for me. It was a private black & white photo session with my friend Audrey and her new baby girl. Her husband Garry was on a special hunting trip in Alaska, when Audrey went into labor a little prematurely. Garry called her one day on a satellite phone and asked how she was. When she said, "I had the baby", Garry thought she was kidding. She finally convinced him that she did indeed give birth to their baby about a half hour before he called home. I guess little MacKenna couldn't wait! Isn't she adorable?!

Nathan & Kimberly - Los Abrigados Resort, Sedona

Nathan & Kim were married on October 13, 2007 at Los Abrigados Resort in Sedona. They had a beautiful creekside ceremony. Everything looked absolutely gorgeous. A friend of theirs performed the ceremony, during which Nathan and Kim served communion to all their friends and family. We especially enjoyed getting to know different members of their family and ended up staying past our normal time, simply because we stayed to chat with the mothers of the bride and groom. We captured so many wonderful photos at this wedding, I had an extremely difficult time choosing which ones to share. So, here's some random choices from throughout the day. We are looking forward to a later date when we will be taking Nathan and Kim out for a Trash the Dress session in Sedona.

The Dunn Family - Windmill Farm

The Dunn family decided to do their family holiday photo out at Windmill Farms in Chino. They just so happen to be very good friends of ours. Our daughter, Annah, and their youngest, Phoebe, are the cutest little best friends. Matthew went out and photographed them one early Saturday morning while I spent the morning at our kids' soccer games. Here's a few of our favorites.
